Santa Tecla: solidarity has the flavor of the sea.
Sunday 4th August “A sea of goodness” returns
The gastronomic event synonymous with the Ionian summer, which combines quality products with charity and fun, returns to the renowned seaside village of Acese.
The 9th edition of “A sea of goodness”, the gastronomic event that has become a tradition now, will be presented at the press conference on 31 July at 11.00, an authentic flavors of the sea with significant gestures of solidarity and charity.
The complete staff is already at work to give the public the new 2019 edition, richer and more exciting, which will take place in the seaside village of Santa Tecla, Sunday 4 August starting at 20.
“A sea of goodness”, since its birth, has been considered above all a party: for the area, with thousands of visitors; for the Acese hamlet that hosts it, with its natural charm; and for solidarity, given that the appointment was born with the intention of supporting the Parish of Santa Tecla, by donating the proceeds of the evening to charity. This will also be the case this year, reconfirmations and new entries in the team. The organization is always signed by Blu Lab Academy, of Chef Alfio Visalli, with the Ferlito family of the Acireale Frozen Center.
The appointment will once again be zero-impact, totally “green” and “plastic free”, in the name of respect for the environment. This feature has become a strength over the years for the event which, despite the very high number of visitors, has always put the protection of the village first. In fact, the Municipality of Acireale gives its support to the event, with the Department of the Environment, while the central heart of the event will still be the stage where, presented by the journalist Antonio Iacona and the co-host Roberta Romano and with the intervention of the food critic Fabio Riccio, guests and protagonists of the evening will take turns. Along the main road of Santa Tecla the workstations will alternate with cooks and pastry chefs, who will offer their recipes to the public. You can access the tastings by purchasing the appropriate tickets at the cash desks and the proceeds, as per tradition, will be donated to the Parish of Santa Tecla, which will identify as every year the needy families to whom to allocate the sum.
The team that is working on this 9th edition, is once again, very prestigious thakns to the participation of Tu Si Bio as regards the ecological aspect; AIC Sicilia, the Italian Celiac Association, which shared the sensitivity of the event for those who experience conditions of food intolerance or allergies; to enrich the parterre of food stands there will be a station dedicated to the world of vegetables curated by Spirito Contadino, collaborated by Veg Sicilia (“A land of goodness”) and actively participated by chef Giuseppe Foti. Then continue with Con.Pa.It., Confederation of Italian Confectioners, led in Sicily by Maestro Peppe Leotta, who will coordinate his team in the creation of a maxi cake for “A sea of goodness” (also gluten-free). And again, some of the big names in the kitchen will make their important gastronomic contribution: Massimo Mantarro, Seby Sorbello, Alfio Visalli, Maurizio Urso, Giovanni Porretto, Nico Scalora, Natale Di Maria, who inaugurate a manifestation of passion for our local wealth. , named “The Sea of Sicily”, which will see a large and festive dish prepared live for the many guests. This year there will also be an exceptional speech by Enrico Derflingher, president of the Euro-Toques Italy Association, at the event.
Calabria Pesca, which will offer the best productions of its coasts and the historic and unmissable Seafood Salad, is also worth mentioning. The well-known company Tomarchio, which will dedicate its commitment to the “Tortina” for the little ones. The historic oyster station has been renewed, while other names of chefs are joining the team, such as the young and already prepared Silvio Iacuzza and Giorgio Pillera, who in particular will dedicate themselves to the so-called “perfect fish” of the Open Blue Cobia company and with him the chef Francesco Gambacorta, already known at Blu Lab Academy. The beverage corner, with American bar cocktails, will be curated by Marco Fiore’s Allcholica. The event will see the welcome participation of Etna Afro Festival on the stage.
The event is coordinated by the event manager Valentina Duca; media relations is managed by Roberta Romano; Melina Di Paola is entrusted with the administration. And, in order not to leave anything to chance, the fittings were entrusted to the experience and preparation of En.Mo., Enzo Mosca, who decided to dedicate a real restyling to the event.
Finally, among the technical partners: Electrolux, IdLab-Project and Blu Lab Promotion.
“A Sea of Goodness” has rightly become a point of reference for the summer on the Ionian coast, and not only from a food and wine point of view. In fact, the traditional appointment saw thousands of euros donated to each edition, with great gratitude from the Parish, led by Alfredo D’Anna and satisfaction from the participants, happy to taste new recipes and at the same time make a gesture of generosity.
This is also the only BIO and zero impact event of Acireale. The curriculum of the event and its press review tell of eight really intense years and promise an even richer 9th edition of guests, of protagonists among chefs and pastry chefs and of entertainment and show always pleasing to our audience.
